Have you ever ben assigned an boring task with a subject and you didn't have the slightest clue where to start? That's exactly how I felt when I was given the task of creating something with paper. My mind had already been juggling a lot of things that are in my everyday life. I was stuck with a lot on my mind staring at a blank sheet of paper. As I looked at the blank piece of paper sitting on my desk it hit me maybe I could draw a picture of something I enjoyed doing, like my sons playing at the park. But that was to difficult, being the only thing I could make out was little stick figures.

Running out of time for my assignment and not knowing where to begin I started an sharp crease in the middle of the paper and folded the edges. Then it hit me why not build an paper plane. It was such an easy task and still enjoyable to even the most uptight student. As I began to make the paper plane my son asked if I could make him one that was better than my original design, although it dampered my plane making abilities I succeeded in making him a plane that was to his liking. Finding an idea of making something enjoyable inspired me, and the fact that I put a big smile on my son's face was an even bigger bonus.

Something really simple and easy can entertain child. I've done the same with my little sister and cousins.
ReplyDeleteThe best inspiration often comes from children. The simple mind of a child is full of innocence that often transpires into great ideas.
ReplyDeleteI remember always just making a bunch of these and getting in trouble for doing it. Class was just so boring I just needed something to do. I'm sure all the kids in elementary and middle school will always find paper airplanes entertaining.
